Scientists at Kitt Peak and Skylab observers report a hole in the sun's corona and first signs of a new 11 year cycle. Ground based McMath telescope observations suggest solar wind may affect weather six to seven days ahead. A sunspot in August indicates cycle transition with a peak around 1980 and decline by 1984.
