In Vipond district, the Queen of the Hills mine, operated by Chas. W. Clark and E. L. Whitmore of Butte, reports a $75,000 purchase from Robidoux and Jennings and about 60 workers developing ore. A 10 stamp mill with Wilney tables will operate next week, with an ore head of 4 40 to the ton over seven feet. Belcher property in Soap Gulch is under lease to GC W. Clark with shaft depth 100 feet and a new hoisting plant of 11,000 dollars ordered. The New England Statist notes copper demand driven by cartridge production and trolley systems, keeping prices firm through the week.
Joseph K. Clark traveled to Wallace Idaho to inspect the Kill Buck properties he recently bought. A. B.
