Autopsy Pending in Death at Mutte Ash Pit
In Mutte a coroner’s inquest failed to determine whether Leon Lemieux died of heart disease or electric shock. Witnesses described Lemieux on an ash-pit door with live wires and insulation intact while others noted marks on the body and questioned how such injuries occurred. The jury ordered an autopsy by Drs. Norcross and Cowperthwaite, with the inquest postponed to tomorrow evening.

An abrasion near the lamp on the ascent light wire could not be reached from the ash-pit floor, and there was no current strong enough to extinguish the light or end a life.
