Charles Butler, a colored man, shot his wife three times at 11 this morning in the Japanese lodging house at 1328 Cat Street and then killed himself. The woman, daughter of a prominent colored politician, was taken to the hospital but is not expected to live. Butler, reportedly a stepson of Fritz Keebel, left a typewritten statement and had threatened to kill his wife if she pursued the divorce suit.
