May 26 Omelha Nebraska two policemen prevented Henry Christenson from hanging himself outside Anna Smith's residence after he twice mounted the porch and tied a rope to the window. Miss Smith cut him down each time and finally police locked him up. Christenson, a Swift and Co cashier, and Anna Smith a beauty stenographer, had quarreled after an engagement to marry. The couple’s roving cries alarmed neighbors and Miss Smith pleaded for protection and removal of the rope. Christenson was later found hanging again but was torn and bleeding when taken to the station.
