Supreme Court affirms mine cage law in deep shafts
The Montana Supreme Court upholds a law requiring cages to be cased and covered in mines with vertical shafts over 300 feet. It finds the title broad yet clear, noting the statute protects miners in deep development while not hindering shallow prospecting. The ruling confirms the act’s constitutionality and denounces claims of deceit in the title.
