Mining News From Lumpkin County Gold Camps
Over five ounces of Mr. Crisson's gold last week yielded about a hundred dollars amid busy activity at Briar Patch canal and Calhoun mine purchases. Nonresident owners risk losses to unseasoned workers while local miners push sluice boxes and new machinery at Barlow mill. The Barlow operation, aided by Mr. Bainbridge, is set for strong ore output as steam power gives way to electricity.

Gainesville Midland Rail Line to Extend Northward
The Athens and Jefferson railroad will bypass Gainesville and extend to Dahlonega with a gauge broadening from Jefferson to Gainesville. A merged electric railway owning Gainesville to Dahlonega will back the expansion, including a spur to Mr Baldwin's pyrite mines on Chestatee three miles from the main line. Baldwin, in New York shelving finances, will return soon to push construction and secure right of way along the route. Athens Banner.

King of block adeers bound over in White County case
Local report says Kim Gibson of White County was bound over by Com. Baker this week. Eyelones visited several Georgia towns Tuesday but caused no fatalities. A Savannah trolley car was blown two miles. The preacher’s blessing of crops last year led to discontent and fear of interference with farmers business. Farmers expect limited grain and farm products this year based on current outlook.
