An American tourist in Berlin left a satchel with $38,500 in United States currency in a taxi. The driver recovered the satchel and returned it intact. The grateful tourist and wife rewarded the driver with 40 marks after counting the money.
The kitchen of the historic Chalfont St. Giles cottage where John Milton lived in 1665 during the plague has been restored. It remains a favorite pilgrimage site for American tourists visiting the area near London.
