Baskets of Food Distributed on Thanksgiving Day
Several groups prepared and distributed baskets to needy families for Thanksgiving. Women delivered 13 baskets to homes, each including a chicken from local farmers and various staples such as butter coffee sugar jelly fruit apples potatoes bread and vegetables. In district court at Thanksgiving progress was made in the Pierson fraudulent banking case against W F Pierson cashier of the States Savings bank of Afton. Witnesses examined include receiver F D Sargent and director A E Otis with testimony on bank condition and indebtedness. Runaway Pony Injures 6-Year-Old Maxine Snyder
