Mr Orfield lists debts of 3093.68 with 879 secured and 2135.82 unsecured. His assets are 771. Rotary Club in Jowana hotel featured moving pictures on macaroni and spaghetti manufacturing shown by Eugene Skinner of Skinners Omaha plant. Sylvester McCann and Harry Osborn of the local express office left for Corning where Mr Meann will head the office during Roy McFee’s illness. Mr Osborn returns to Creston tonight. Ministers University club met at Iowana hotel with about 20 ministers and wives in attendance.

Des Moines Feb 10 One bandit was fatally wounded and two others captured when three men attempted to rob Booneville Savings Bank 20 miles southwest of Des Moines Dallas county. Bank cashier C C Cook fired from across the street as Layton emptied the till about 1500 dollars. Layton wounded four gunshot wounds and was rushed to Des Moines. Lampman who drove the taxi surrendered with hands up. Oliver and Lampman were held for safe keeping in Adel.

Mitchell Recovering After Surgey For Blood Poisoning
Rex Mitchell of Creston a high school senior and football star underwent surgery at Greater Community hospital Saturday night for blood poisoning and is reported to be recovering rapidly. The physician said Mitchell is lots better today and complete recovery is certain. He was injured two weeks earlier when an automobile skidded into him. A fracture in the left knee and severe injuries to the right leg were noted. The infection developed late last week and required the operation. His left leg remains in a cast.

Davenport dispatch reports Milton Hodge 30 of Cedar Rapids is held by state and county authorities as a murder suspect in the Ethel Collicott case. Tipster Sylvester Miller, a 26 year term robber, claims Hodge and Norman Luce recruited him to drive them from Cedar Rapids to Davenport on March 18, 1924, the murder date. Miller says Luce entered the garage, a shot occurred, and both men returned to the car telling him to flee.
