Churches Close as Epidemic Peaks Across Central Regions

Religious services and Sunday schools will remain closed until after November 27 as the epidemic reaches a crisis in central and southern towns. Resumption planned next week with regular services on Sabbath November 3, while families are urged to hold prayer in homes. Notices also announce church meetings, election changes, and local obituaries including Mrs Florence Clayton and Harold Dey.

Deaths Leave Community in Mourning Over Silvers Loss

William Ruesell Silvers dies after a pneumonia battle in Cranbury. At 32 he led J. B. Silvers & Bro. Co. and served as banker and civic leader. Survived by wife Christefia Milne and children Jack and Jessie. Funeral Monday at 8 PM. Also notes deaths of Vernon B. Farr in New Haven and Walter E. Shreve of Jamesburg with service details.

R Bruce Gordon Jr Dies at 24 in Irvington

R Bruce Gordon Jr aged 24 died of pneumonia at his home in Irvington on Tuesday morning. He married Clem entine Lewis about three years ago and they had a daughter named Clementine. He practiced law with Coult & Smith of Newark and was a Mason. Funeral services were held at his home and burial is planned at Second Presbyterian Cemetery Cranbury.
