At the fifty fifth annual meeting of the Second Cavalry Veterans Association Mr Adrian Appleget of Trenton was presented with a gold mounted cane He has served as secretary for thirteen years The other secretary was the late Alfonzo S Hill of Trenton
On Thursday near Cranbury Station James Diblin and his brother George were in a car that struck the rail and plunged down the embankment onto the tracks. James escaped injury, but George was seriously hurt and taken to New Brunswick hospital for treatment.
The Princeton chapter seeks linen for French hospitals including 260 sheets 500 bath towels 1 000 hand towels 750 sand kerchiefs and 50 napkins plus tin and lead foil. Accept new or near new sturdy articles and request items sent to Mrs Henry Symmes promptly. The executive meeting is postponed due to the epidemic.

The Cranbury community mourns Florence Latta Bergen wife of Bertram S Clayton who died from influenza. She was daughter of W Elmer and the late Ella Bergen and leaves a father husband and two daughters Marion and Alberta. The marriage occurred June 15 1910 and the Perrine infant son died of influenza with Rosella and Clarence Perrine ill.
Mrs Katherine P Harlan wife of Earre HarLan of Philadelphia has died and her husband trusts in the Lord's resurrection day. Barre Haran.
Selah G. Applegate of Prospect Plains died October 10 in Trenton from Spanish influenza after a brief illness. He was 37, born here, worked 15 years for the Pennsylvania Railroad and was an engineer on the main line. He married Pearl Bugvee of Trenton and leaves a son Williard and two sisters Mrs. George R. Bailey and Mrs. R. J. Davenport.
Margaretta EB Carroll daughter of Dr and Mrs Edgar Carroll died after a week long illness at age 23 in New Brunswick. Funeral at Dayton Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev James B Clark with readings from Tennyson and verses. She led Red Cross work and taught Sunday school and was active in Christian Endeavor and Sewing Club. Survived by her parents and two brothers Nathaniel and Wallace Carroll. Pallbearers included Mitchel Carroll Irving Buckelew Miles Ross and others. Burial in a receiving vault handled by Herbert and Moke.
