Due to new influenza cases and moist warm weather the Local Board of Health cannot lift the quarantine yet. Churches and sabbath schools remain closed for another Sabbath though milder news and potential weather changes suggest an early lift next week. Small prayer gatherings are allowed and encouraged to continue.
Thieves stole tires and tools from Bertram 8. Clayton and a touring car from Charles Davison. Nicholas Vreeland Jr.’s car was taken from Monmouth Junction. A Cranbury Township canvass aims to raise 2000 for United War Work Campaign with Rev. J. E. Curry as chair and S. E. Bennett as secretary treasurer. Donations support front line services. campaign runs November 11–18. Accidents injure Roselle Schenck and Spafford Stults with multiple broken ribs reported.
Dr Wilbur warns the main risk now is convalescents mingling with those uninfected as germs remain in nasal and throat secretions for up to two weeks after recovery. He notes the epidemic is waning but new cases appear daily and urges careful conduct, especially among recovered patients, to end the scourge. Hightstown has suffered, but cleanliness sun shine and fresh air are still urged.
A Monday evening accident on the road to Hightstown involved a Starr Dayton car and a Hudson driven by four Black travelers returning from Camp Dix. The impact wrecked both cars. the Hudson occupants were injured, with David Jackson and his wife Elsie plus their daughter Mrs John Bagley cared for at St Francis hospital. All are improving. Mia Jackson and her daughter returned home.

Henry W. Jeffers, manager of Walker-Gordon laboratories at Plainsboro, will sail for France next month to establish a large dairy to supply base hospitals for 35,000 to 45,000 soldiers. He will command a committee of leading dairy men and oversee a thousand cows fulfilling a government assignment. Jeffers is Cornell trained, twenty-year veteran of Walker-Gordon, and active in state agriculture and grange work.
