Peddlers Barred From Hightstown
Borough Council passes an ordinance forbidding street peddling in Hightstown. Only items grown or made by the seller may be sold on the streets. An exception allows fish peddlers as residents must buy fish from those peddling through town.
Princeton Park Opens at Mercer Stockton Nassau Junction
The new Princeton Park at the junction of Mercer Stockton and Nassau Streets and University Place is opened to the public. Concrete walks are laid, shrubbery to be planted, and the Battle Monument yet to be erected. The monument costs $60,000, funded equally by the United States government and the state to commemorate the battle of Princeton.
