Oratorio Ruth to Be Given at Second Presbyterian

The Hightstown Choral Society will present the oratorio Ruth at Second Presbyterian Church on Monday evening November 6 under Miss Beatrice McCue of New York City. Proceeds aid the young ladies and young married ladies society. Tickets cost 25 cents and may be bought from members or at the door.

Mrs Rue to Attend Luncheon and Reception

Mrs Maude Burroughs Rue of Trenton will travel to New York City to attend a Waldorf Astoria luncheon hosted by Mrs Silvano Alfredo Andrew of Bella Viata. She will stay to attend a McAlpin reception honoring Mrs Charles W Stockton president of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs, with an afternoon garden reception at the hotel.

Grace Peppler Weds Russell Rockhill in Cranbury Ceremony

Miss Grace Peppler daughter of Mr and Mrs George C Peppler of Cranbury married Russell E Rockhill son of Mr and Mrs Edward Rockhill of Jamesburg at the bride’s home on Thursday November 25. Rev J E Curry officiated with attendants Miss Lillian Caine and Norman Jobes. The decor featured green and white chrysanthemums. After a wedding breakfast the couple planned to reside in Jamesburg where Mr Rockhill works for the railroad. Miss Peppler previously served as an operator for Farmers and Traders Telephone Company.

Bride of Schuyler Mygrant in Jamesburg Presbyterian ceremony

Miss Elizabeth Vandenberg daughter of Chester Vandenberg Half Acre wed Schuyler Mygrant a Prospect Plains resident and railroad worker. Rev William J Edgar officiated at the Jamesburg church parsonage with Mr and Mrs Robert Vandenberg as attendants. A reception followed at the bride’s father home. Apollo Lodge 156 Cranbury attended, presenting a strong sermon by the pastor. Local notices list district superintendents and Union Conference plans alongside Thanksgiving events and community notices.

Dayton church society to hold chicken supper and fair

The E. S. Dayton Church Society will host a chicken supper and fair on December 8 and 9. Activities include homemade candy and fancy Christmas gift articles. Music by Mrs. Clarence Perrine and Mr. Arthur Burroughs on Wednesday. Thursday features instrumental and vocal music, an elocutionist, and Christmas cards and tags for sale.
