Mercer jury awards 15000 in breach of promise case
After nearly two years of deliberation a Mercer Circuit court jury returned a verdict of 15000 in favor of Miss Jennie Lanza of Trenton who sued Tito Salamandra of Trenton for breach of promise seeking 50000. Evidence reached the jurors around noon and the award was reported just before 2 o clock.

Mrs Mary L Perrine Dies After Weeklong Illness
Mrs Mary Louisé Perrine old Spotswood resident died Saturday afternoon at home after pneumonia. She was eighty one, daughter of the late Ayres and widow of Thomas Perrine. Survived by son T Francis Perrine and two daughters Louise and Edith, a sister Mrs Caroline DeVoe. Services held 11:30 Tuesday at St Peter's church and burial in St Peter's cemetery Spotswood.

John S. Johnson, longtime Helmetta resident and pioneer barber, was found dead in his chair at the Avon Inn where he stayed. Heart disease listed as the cause. He was sixty eight, born in Matawan, lived in Spotswood 35 years, survived by son James Johnson of Spotswood, two sisters, and a half brother. He formerly worked as Helmetta’s first barber and later for George W Helme Company snuff makers.

Thomas Thompson a 77 year old retired farmer and Civil War veteran died after a stroke. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Plunges Through Window At St Francis Hospital
Mrs Edward Bozar of Hightstown leaped from a third story window at St Francis hospital in Trenton early Wednesday. She suffered a fractured ankle and wrist and probable internal injuries and is in critical condition after the long drop. The nurse on duty left the door ajar as Bozar was reported asleep prior to the leap.
