Road controversy over Wasa to Sheep Creek route debated

A reader questions the June editorial on delaying logging dangers by building new roads between Wasa and Canal Flat. He argues the east side road Wasa to Sheep Creek, partly through timbered land, would better serve tourists and traffic, asks why the government straightening project wasn’t pursued, and hints at local support to repair the older route near Premier Lake. The editor’s note explains the new road reflected provincial road engineering policy rather than Cranbrook agitation. Fernie BC signals debate over road realignment and local geographic needs.
