A local jam committee listed members and contributions of fruit jelly and pickles including numerous ladies and committees. Total items include 3 pints and 28 quarts of jelly and fruit and 8 quarts plus 2 pints of pickles and 2 pickle bottles. Mr J Little packed and forwarded the goods to Vernon.
District Deputy President Sister Maude Baxter presided with Grand Marshal Bro H White. Officers including N G Slater C Bennett V G Sister Racklyett Rec Secretary Sister Hickenthom Fin Secretary Slater A Liddicoat Treasurer Slater N Baker and others were installed. Regular meeting set for Wednesday August 11 with social evening whist drive and services led by Rev W H Bridge.
Mr and Mrs A H Webb and son Harry return from Nelson and Proctor after a ten day visit. Crate shipments of currants and gooseberries to Lethbridge spark market notes. Patriotic Society thanks donors Judge Peckham and John Reid. Baker Hill residents report a flying object north of town resembling a Zeppelin with searchlight. Cranbrook Overseas Club plans a member social and whist drive at Maple Hall. Old Cranbrook chum Godfrey Barrington Brown shares news of Jim Milne and George Jones injuries. J P Fink reports Spokane trip and road conditions with cross border travel rules and bond costs clarified for Canadian and American customs officials.
A historical record lists receipts for a July 21 1915 sports day event including gate receipts 412.60, wheels of fortune 2.06, fortune teller 11.60, refreshment booths 211.80, shooting gallery 8.85, programmes 8.20, Victoria day committee total 160.72 and final balance 1125.07. Disbursements cover preparing grounds 7.15 prize monies 16.00 orchestra 16.00 hall 25.00 printing 21.00 and supplies 178.07 with the balance handed over to the Canadian Patriotic Fund 769.78.
