RC&D completes forestry projects across nine counties
Philip J. Tremblay reports RC&D finished 1980 81 forestry projects with two DNR foresters aiding six counties. Don Peterson logged 1 157 acres in 15 plans and Timber sales 17 000 board feet. Bill Hoffman managed 2 879 acres in revised plans and 140 acres timber sales yielding 4 500 board feet.

Championship cheese sale planned in La Crosse Center
The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association will sell United States championship cheese on November 4 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the La Crosse Center. Public sale offers 2-pound factory direct pieces including Colby cheddar Swiss and spreads. Alice in Dairyland will greet the public and demonstrate recipes, a film will be shown, and an auction will conclude the event with the best cheese from nine classes and the national champion.
