Senate rolls back dairy price hike amid filibuster end
The U S Senate approved emergency legislation rolling back a dairy price support increase that would cost the government up to 1 million a day. Senator Proxmire ended his filibuster in exchange for a pledge that the Agriculture Committee will study a higher level next year. The measure returns milk supports to 13.10 dollars per hundred pounds, the pre increase level, and heads to President Reagan after House approval two weeks earlier.
