Dairymen discussed shelled corn in feeding and silos
Mr Bates described shifting from HMC to Harvestore to reduce spoilage and raise fat tests on 50 cows. Dr Mahanna advised staged feeding to freshening cows, daily totals near 14 to 32 pounds, and using mineral balances. Emphasis on proper silo packing, grinding effects, forage testing, and avoiding overfeeding high energy feeds.
