Wisconsin crop progress faces rain and slow silo filling
Despite widespread rains across Wisconsin, silo filling last week reached 66 percent, below the 10 year average of 79 percent and behind last year’s 63 percent. Corn harvesting has begun at 4 percent statewide, with 6 percent in the south central district, soybeans lag at 3 percent versus 15 percent annual average, fall plowing at 14 percent, topsoil moisture 58 percent adequate 42 percent surplus, and pastures at 93 percent of normal.
