Tax changes to have little effect on farmers
State Department of Revenue officials said recent changes in the property tax assessment schedule will not significantly affect farmers. Moving the assessment date from May 1 to January 1 in 1979 should not tax crops feed or other farm products held for winter. Officials promise corrective legislation to prevent new taxation and note exemptions apply to feed on the farm.

Nordson Offers 28 Per Share For Domain Stock
Nordson Corp of Amherst Ohio has made a cash offer to buy Domain stock for 28 a share valuing the transaction at about 23 million. Domain directors approved the bid pending board review after a prior 20 a share proposal from Domain officers was withdrawn. Domain, based in New Richmond, also manufactures Dobey Feed and packaging machinery.

Bergland to visit China in November
Agriculture Secretary Robert Bergland plans a trip to Peking in November with a 15 member delegation including three reporters. He would be the first U.S. secretary to visit China, seen as a potential market for American farmers. China has recently bought 2.5 million metric tons of wheat and 276,000 metric tons of corn after years of abstention.

Wisconsin forecasts 810000 pounds of red clover seed production this year up seven percent from 1977 with 9000 harvested acres at 90 pounds per acre. U.S. production is 30.2 million pounds up 22 percent, with 278000 acres to harvest and average yield around 109 pounds.
