Eau Claire county sign-ups open for 1982 conservation practices
ASCS office begins accepting sign-ups for cost-sharing on 17 approved conservation practices for 1982. Sign-ups run through Oct 30 at the Eau Claire County ASCS office. Wanda Warner, county ASCS director, notes funds are not yet available and practices cannot be approved without funding. A current soil test since July 1, 1980 is required. Approved practices include permanent vegetative cover, strip cropping, terrace systems, windbreaks, no till, water impoundments, stream bank protection, timber stand improvement, and more.
