Ex-POWs schedule state convention
American Ex-Prisoners of War will hold its state convention Oct. 8 10 at the Holiday Inn. Ex-prisoners of war and spouses are invited. A luncheon at Sentry World starts Friday. The state commander’s reception at the Holiday Inn begins at 6 p.m. Saturday features a Med-Search seminar on malnutrition and incarceration residuals and a 7 p.m. banquet with Senator Robert Kasten. Nomination Deadlines for Service Academies Announced
Rep. Gunderson announced Oct 15 as the deadline to apply for nominations to the Military, Naval, Air Force and Merchant Marine academies for the 1983 class. Eligibility requires ages 17 to 22 and a high school diploma. selection hinges on transcripts, entrance exams, and leadership. The Coast Guard academy accepts 1987 class applications with a Dec 15 deadline and nationwide competition.
