Rise with the birds by early dawn in Wisconsin counts
A reflective account of an early morning birding spree around 4:30 to 7 am in Wisconsin. The narrator notes observing woodcocks, bitterns, swamp sparrows, woodpeckers, ruffed grouse, hermit thrush, Canada geese, upland sandpiper, and sandhill cranes, with red crossbills and a range of warblers as hopeful backyard arrivals. Special thanks go to A K of Menomonie and Mr Robbins of Medford for input.
