PIK program affects Social Security benefits for farmers
PIK payments, issued as certificates of ownership for land set aside for crops like corn and grain, are taxable as income but not counted in Social Security until cashed. If benefits began before this year, PIK does not reduce benefits, but if retirement starts this year and work exceeds 45 hours monthly, PIK income may reduce benefits by half the amount over the $6,600 earnings limit. Muskets and Cannons Ignite Old Mill Shoot Festival
The Old Mill Shoot and Civil War Festival returns July 9 and 10 at the Old Mill Center and fairgrounds.
