Extension Homemakers Set Plans for Annual Conference
The Wisconsin Extension Home makers Council hosts its annual conference at the Civic Center in Eau Claire on September 24 and 25. The event titled The Rainbow Dimension welcomes Extension Homemaker members and the public with an admission fee. Keynote speaker Judith Gilles, dubbed The Erma Bombeck of the North, is slated to discuss.

State Fair 4-H dairy deadline nears
Dairy project members of 4-H who want to exhibit a registered animal at the Wisconsin State Fair should apply for selection by July 3, said Cheryl Skjolaas, St. Croix County 4-H and youth agent. 4-H dairy project members 12 or older as of Jan. 1, 1986 are eligible to participate in the State Fair. Animals may be either owned or managed. Ownership is established when the animal is registered in the name of the exhibitor. Calves or yearlings can be shown as managerial animals. Junior Dairy will be exhibited at the Wisconsin State Fair July 31 to Aug. 5. decision making Educational workshops for officers and those interested are planned for Wednesday morning. WEHC president Carol Anderson will conduct the business meeting Wednesday morning. Seminars will be offered to members at that time. Farm Crisis/Vial of Life, Photography Helps, Recycling Clothes, The Sandwich Generation, Painting with Oils, Ghana, Irish Lore and other seminars are offered. Thursday morning's schedule includes seminars entitled: Winterizing Your Yard, Nature at Your Doorstep, Astrology, Is Your House Sick, Practical Law, Proving Biblical History and others Project 1990: The Impact of Her Spirit coordinators will conduct a two-part workshop both days in scripting stories, acting and directing productions. The Cultural Arts Committee will coordinate the annual conference art show. Entries from participating counties will be exhibited with winners going to national competition. Tours of the brewery, the Chippewa Valley Museum and other sites will be offered. Contact local county extension offices for more information.
