Stray voltage solved on Eden area dairy with new plane method
In Fond du Lac County near Eden, Wisconsin Power and Light engineers tackled stray voltage harming dairy cows. An equipotential plane in a stanchion barn cut voltage from 1.2 to 0.4 volts, reducing illness and boosting milk output. The retrofit used copper wires in concrete grooves tied to metal barn components, with Con-Cor Co. aiding grooving and installation.
