Wisconsin county agents honored at state convention
West central Wisconsin agents received multiple honors at the Wisconsin County Agents Association meeting in Madison. Cal Kraemer of Chippewa County earned several awards including a Dow Chemical Co. study tour, an environmental quality award from Velsicol, and selection as 1982 state winner for Chippewa Falls personal columns. George Oncken and Bernie Drewiske received National Association of County Agricultural Agents Distinguished Service Awards for rural and urban program development and land use planning, respectively. Tom Koszarek of Taylor County won the Achievement Award for expanding corn and alfalfa programs. Awards also honored 25 years of service for Oncken, Sommerfeld, and Ligdenberger, plus Second Mile awards for Dr. Bob Cropp and Dr. Dick Vilstrup for dairy economics and marketing efforts. Friends of the County Agent honors went to Tom Lawin and Jerry Urdahl.
