Home builders seek donations to rebuild farm home
The Eau Claire Area Home Builders Association aims to fund a new two story house for Meryl and Bev Crane of Colfax by late summer or before August 12. Builders offer plans, materials and discounts, with voluntary donations of time and labor from members, plus private gifts. The Cranes run a dairy swine farm on about 150 acres east of Eau Claire, facing medical and financial hardship including a rare child illness and mastitis losses.
