Chippewa County 4-H Dairy Poster Winners Named
Top entries across three divisions in Chippewa Falls 4-H dairy poster contest were announced with cash prizes. Junior winners Jenifer Jorstad Melissa Naumann and Todd LaGesse each earned $3 from Mid-America Dairymen and American Milk Producers. Intermediate winners Roberta Bowe Sue Schroeder Mona Gesser and Senior winners Jerry Judy Clark and Lisa Lehman earned prizes. Falls Dairy Co. added $5 to clubs with highest completion rates. Haycreek Ramblers Bob Creek Bombers Birch Creek Mountaineers led. Ten clubs entered.

About 300 Cumberland area homes were visited by Dairy Doorknockers from the Junior Beavers 4-H Club during May and June to count dairy products. Nearly 210 homes had five or more items such as milk cheese and ice cream. Prizes included cheese gift certificates and T shirts for top volunteers.

Petersons Lead Baldwin 4-H Tractor Contest Family Deepens Its Roots
The Baldwin Peterson family dominates the St. Croix County 4-H tractor event with Troy finishing first at 776 points to advance to the state contest in July while Jeff placed third with 1 007 points. Ken Peterson leads tractor safety for the Baldwin Wide Awake club as Larry helps officiate, having represented the county previously and now retired from 4-H. Louise Peterson, mother, guides the club as music leader and sits on the county Leader Council. The younger Lance observes. Janice, the eldest child, is noted as a graduate 4-Her.
