A collection of soup recipes begins with a beef chili and tomato base, includes a chicken pressure cooker dish, a broccoli and chicken broth soup, and a corn spinach creamed soup. Each uses canned tomatoes, onions, and common seasonings. yields range from 2 to 8 cups or servings.
Easy Cheesy Vegetable Soup mixes carrots corn broccoli onion and tangy cheese in a creamy base. Sauté all vegetables with bouquet garni then simmer 15 to 20 minutes until tender add cheese and melt 3 to 5 minutes yields 4 servings.
Prenatal instruction will be offered January 14 21 and 28 at Bloomer Community Memorial Hospital taught by hospital obstetrical staff nurses. Dr Richard Gladitsch will discuss prepared childbirth with a Q and A period. Classes are free for expectant mothers and fathers. To register call 715 568 2000. Additional sessions planned in April.
The Buffalo County Extension Homemakers plan an international dinner on January 10 at 1 p.m. at Merlin's Silver Moon in Alma. All Extension Homemakers are invited, with clubs asked to bring a dish to pass and items from foreign countries. Husbands and children are welcome. families should bring their own table service. Attendees should contact Mrs. Art Secrist, Rt. 2, Alma WI 54610, to assist with accommodations.
