Mid-America Dairymen Board Lauds The Country Today
The Northern Division board adopted a resolution praising The Country Today for its investigation into government cheese mold claims. District 9 Director Tom Lewis authored the resolution, read at the Dec. 21 meeting, and criticized Agriculture Secretary Block for implying extensive moldy cheese in government storage.

Largest full blood Marchigiana herd in the West at Marcadia Acres
Howard and Ed Graham of Marcadia Acres near Glenwood City boast the nation's largest marchigiana herd with 35 cows and 15 heifers on 99 acres. They are among about 250 full blood Marky cattle in the United States, imported from Italy and England to build a 100 head operation. The Grahams claim the breed converts roughage well, produces smaller calves but larger mature cattle, and sells bulls nationwide while eyeing markets in the West, Central and South America.
