Watch those income tax deductions warned by IRS agents

Winter’s Arctic Bite Brings Record Winds to Wisconsin

West central Wisconsin endured an extreme cold spell with wind chills near 81 below in Eau Claire and 100 below in Barron County and Rice Lake as a jet stream pattern pulled frigid Arctic air into the Midwest. Winds averaged 40 mph, gusts to 80 mph, causing roofs to be ripped off near Lake Superior and in the Red River Valley. Highest wind chills hit about 102 below zero in the Red River Valley and near Duluth. Meteorologist John Graff explained the event as a rare five year occurrence, driven by a blocking ridge over the West and a large arctic air mass. The piece also covers tax filing reminders and questionable farm deductions like pools and barns, noting restrictions on home office deductions and other improper claims.
