Equity Co op in Altoona reports strong year at 61st meeting
Altoona Market of Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association announced record sales in 1982 with 36.4 million dollars in cattle calves hogs and sheep sold by producers from 18 northwestern Wisconsin counties. The co op marketed 1 245 823 head of livestock and 235 million dollars in gross value while adopting computer marketing and cost cutting measures. Directors delayed a 20 cent per head price increase and instead raised funds through budget cuts.
