Milk federation studies price support plan in dairy talks
Shawano’s Archie Smith of Consolidated Badger is elected to the National Milk Producers Federation executive committee. Aniwa farmer Stanley Nelson also serves as a director. The Dec 14 meeting reviewed the farm bill and a price support program, with a proposed 80 percent parity level and a sliding scale tied to Commodity Credit Corp purchases, ensuring not below 75 percent parity. The federation aims for unity on a viable plan as a new four year dairy price support bill looms.
