Town mutual completes assessment to restore surplus
Alden and Black Brook Town Mutual Insurance Co based in Polk County completed an assessment of its 925 policyholders across Polk Barron Dunn and St Croix counties to raise about 135000 to restore its surplus to a satisfactory level. Policyholders paid roughly 65 percent of their annual premium, with some balking at payment. The state will review 1980 figures filed around January 1981 and all other town mutuals faces scrutiny when their statements arrive.
