The 14th annual Star of Wonder planetarium program at UW Eau Claire runs five evenings next week with shows at 7:30 and 9 p.m. Dec 18–22 in the L E Phillips Planetarium. Robert Elliott says the show explains what the Star of Bethlehem could have been, tracking Mars Saturn and Jupiter’s 6 B.C. conjunction. Admission is 50 cents. advance reservations via University Service Center at 836-3727. Tickets must be picked up 15 minutes before each program.
A public meeting will be held at the courthouse at 7 p.m. on December 19 to gauge interest in Pepin County applying for Wisconsin Fund money to rehabilitate private septic systems. Pepin County zoning administrator David Bylsma notes three percent of the fund is earmarked for rural septic upgrades.
