Buffalo County Farmer May Join State Agriculture Board
Buffalo County dairy farmer Jim Ziegeweid said he would accept an appointment to the Wisconsin Board of Agriculture if offered by Acting Gov. Martin Schreiber. Ziegeweid, an NFC member, was noted as a possible appointee last week as the lame duck governor’s term ends this month. He confirmed the governor’s office contacted him to complete a resume. If nominated, he could become the first Buffalo County resident to serve on the board, succeeding the late Jim Runde of Cuba City who died last fall. Runde also belonged to the NFO, which has members on the ASCS committee and the Natural Resources Board. The NFO’s Larry Dahl, state director of the Farmers Home Administration, also holds an important post.
