Eau Claire Plans Full Time Agriculture Agent
Eau Claire County will push to hire a full time agriculture agent after the new year. Colleen Bates says UW Extension resisted filling the role due to hiring freezes and preference for internal staff. Interim agent Larry Bjork has served since 1985 and is funded by the county for 24 hours weekly. The county has previously covered his salary since the 1980s resignations and interim terms.
