U S cheese import quotas rise under new trade pact
The United States will allow 112.2 million more pounds of foreign cheese annually, raising total imports to 242.2 million pounds and about 110,000 metric tons. The boost, tied to the Tokyo Round agreements, targets price break cheeses and expands quota control across cow’s milk cheeses while adjusting specific country allocations.
