At the Central District Junior Livestock Show Adams-Friendship ten pork carcasses all failed to meet standards and were disqualified by judge Dennis Buege a UW Madison extension meats specialist. Nine carcasses had loin eye areas under 4.5 square inches and two paired under the minimum weight.
A livestock judging event rejected grand and reserve champion awards as most pork carcasses failed to meet minimum loin eye and trim standards. The lightest carcass met the loin eye threshold but carried fat, while all others exceeded fat depth. Officials awarded a uniform $6 premium to all exhibitors and urged improved breeding and management to lift future quality.
