An eight day diabetes education program for diabetics and families runs August 24 to 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Luther Hospital Eau Claire. A team of nurses dietitians pharmacists and physicians will cover regulation meal planning insulin and oral agents hygiene and exercise with attention to community resources. Register by August 14 by calling the hospital nursing service at 839 3266 and obtain a physician's consent to attend. Now in its 12th year the program has aided over 600 diabetics and 350 family members.
Sacred Heart Hospital announces free hypertension screening programs in Treacy Hall on August 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. and August 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. The sessions aim to detect high blood pressure, which affects over 23 million Americans, often without symptoms. For details call 839 4265.
