Dreyfus vetoes pheasant pen funds in Wisconsin
Gov. Lee Dreyfus vetoed a $1 million appropriation by the Legislature to modernize Wisconsin pheasant rearing at the Poynette game farm. DNR planners shift to pay-as-you-go funding across multiple budgets while considering a $340,000 first phase. Prospects of an override or revival bill appear dim despite strong hunting-season optimism since 1977.

They urge reporting further kills and say fish caught on line can be eaten.
