St. Croix County ASCS director Miles Quade says 1981 wheat can enter the Grain Reserve with 26.5 cent per bushel annual storage payments paid in advance. Loans incur 14 percent interest, waived in year two and three, until price triggers at 4.65 dollars per bushel or three-year maturity. The reserve can hold 700 million bushels. 360 million were stored as of July 1. Fall Creek hosts a Wisconsin Holstein twilight meeting August 13 at the Gerald Schiefelbein farm with judging, speakers, awards, and a dairy recipe contest.
