Dairymen Inc uses $100 cull incentive to cut milk surplus
Dairymen Inc management outlined a plan to spend about 1.5 million on hauling and handling costs and instead pay farmers $100 per culled cow from March 1 to March 31. Up to 15,000 cows could be culled to reduce tanker shipments and keep the money within the cooperative. Each member could avoid external trucking costs while maintaining production by late summer.
