Generosity Surges After Sept 11 Attacks in Costa Mesa
Costa Mesa fire officials note overwhelming support after the Sept 11 attacks with donations from a 2 dollar weekly allowance by a 4 year old to a $10,000 corporate gift. Students and schools organized fundraisers, including Bears for Babies and Red Cross drives, while firefighters raised about $3,000. OCC paid tribute with a new rowing shell for Robert Jordan and $3,300 donated to Borough Manhattan Community College to aid rebuilding efforts.
