The CIO Political Action Committee launches a $5.5 million fund drive urging its 5.5 million members to donate $1 each to unseat anti labor congressmen. The board also plans a price control extension to June 30, 1947, while criticizing Congress for anti union and pro business actions.
Seven people were slightly injured at the Timken Roller Bearing Co plant amid a back-to-work movement following a union offer acceptance to end a 54 day strike. The dispute idled 14,000 workers across five Ohio plants as management and union seek a quick settlement and resumption of negotiations.

About 80 school board members, superintendents, bus drivers, dealers, and county education officials met in the Coshocton library Friday night. New state rules define a bus life at ten years with extensions for mechanical soundness amid a driver shortage. Five to seven buses may be purchased soon. there are about 68 buses in service. Red Cross first aid certificates will be required for each bus driver under new regulations.
The Ohio state guard and state naval militia will hold two training periods at Camp Perry in late July and early August. Units include the first infantry Regiments from Cincinnati Columbus Cleveland and Toledo plus the naval militia. This marks the first Camp Perry drill since 1947 after recent sessions at Camp Light Zaleski and Camp Hocking.
