National Vice President T J Lewis reported President Mitchell instructed on how to handle the Pittsburg No 5 miners dispute. District 5 delegates failed to vote on ousting Dolan and Bellingham and attempted to bolt the convention, frustrated by Lewis.
The Business Men's association meeting was moved from tonight to Friday at 7 p m to avoid clashing with Presbyterian church events. Urging all businessmen to attend promptly, it aims to discuss a fire department and other urgent issues affecting local commerce amid damage reviews from the Pope-Gosser pottery fire and inspector visits. Delegates listed include Jossvs CG A Bernard E A Come na We Wallice CH Hower A G Sanderson J Norris N 8 King Jon Howard and J R B Smith, among others lingering in Cleveland Columbus Cincinnati Chillicothe and Chardon.

Grafton Carne and George Ross, longtime Coshocton players, sign with Steubenville and Fairmont respectively as the Coshocton club joins the new Ohio Pennsylvania West Virginia league. The season opens around May 1 with Ross having prior pro experience and Carneas debuting in the professional ranks.
Washington reports a bill introduced by Senator La Follette prohibits federal office holders from asking for or accepting railroad passes and bars railroads from granting passes with heavy penalties for violations. The measure targets abusive use of railroad passes by officials and seeks to curb perks.
